The Merrimac Light and Water Department was established in 1904 and has been serving the
community of Merrimac since then. We are a public power utility and a public water supplier which means
we are here for you the consumer. There have been many changes to Merrimac since 1904 and MLWD has
been able to supply the new growth with reliable electricity and safe drinking water.
The Light Department will be able to supply Merrimac with reliable electricity for years to come. We
are constantly upgrading our distribution system to keep ahead of the demand and to make sure that the
current customers don't suffer because of it.
The Water Department is in the process of looking for new water sources to supply Merrimac with
safe and clean drinking water for years to come.
